Spring Greetings to All,
It is with a joyful and grateful Spring Spirit I invite you to come experience a wonderful evening of fun, food and friendship. Our scheduled guest presenter had to cancel and sometimes when there seems to be a bump in the road, our exceptional Vice President, Dora, gets around it with perseverance and the help of St Patrick! When you read about our guest presenter, I am sure you will be anxious to join us at our April 1st meeting. So bring a friend or two, arrive at 6:30 sign-in, meeting at 7:00, and enjoy a promised good evening. The Board will meet at 6:00 Don’t forget to turn your calendar to April – See you on the 1st.
APRIL SPEAKER—KEVIN BUNTIN
Needing to find a replacement for Judy Belvo, our scheduled demoing artist for April’s meeting, I found myself making phone calls on the eve of St. Patrick’s day only to snare a leprechaun for us for the evening! Kevin Buntin is Irish but lives and works in Troy, Ohio. When I phoned him he was heading into his studio to work on some of his sculptures, which sounded like a hazardous adventure for him. After our conversation, reading his biography, and viewing some of his work online, I envision his creations coming alive in his studio and having all sorts of adventures with Kevin, resulting in his bumps, cuts and bruises that his wife thinks are the result of equipment misuse.
I invite you to join us Tuesday, April 1, as Kevin takes us into his creative process as he shares his views of the natural world through his work with figurative sculpture and storytelling. And at the end of the evening see if you too think he is a leprechaun. The following is a professional biography the artist uses. At our meeting I will share some of the biography the leprechaun emailed me. …Submitted by Dora Lawson
