I have always had an interest in drawing/painting as far back as I can remember. My family gave me a starter oil painting set as a Christmas present that was the absolute best present ever. It has been an on and off hobby where the motivation lags and finally something will trigger the need to paint. After retiring from the Base, I now have more time to devote to hobbies. I have tried pastels, colored pencil, acrylic, water color, oils, scratch art, and photography. I basically blunder through, but have had some excellent guidance from a drawing class given through the Greene County Career Center & Fairborn High School and other classes, including colored pencil with Tom Kinarney of the FAA. These classes not only give guidance, but seem to motivate just by being in the art environment. I hope to become a more active FAA member in the near future.
