Greetings Members and Patrons,
As I write, it is still raining and will continue most of this week. Water is such a blessing for all living things, so necessary for our health, our earth, and for Spring Flowers to pop up and delight us as the weather changes and brings warmth and hope of a beautiful colorful season. I hope this finds you all looking forward to our April 2nd Meeting with our special guest, visual artist and poet, Rosie Huart. Board meeting at 6:00, gathering at 6:30 for sign in and social, and meeting beginning at 7:00. Come, bring along a friend or two, or more, enjoy getting acquainted, be fed, both mentally and physically, and have fun through it all. See you there!!

President
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
It’s that time of year for us to look at what talent and time we may wish to give to help F.A.A. continue to be the vibrant and strong, long running art organization in the area. We have incredible talent among us and you all know a few have been giving years of time on our board and committees. Please consider if this may be your year to step up. Even if it is to assist.
Our Nominating Committee Chair, Clarice Moore will present a slate of Board candidates for the coming year, 2013/2014. These names will be read at our April 2, 2013 meeting, and nominations will also be accepted from the floor. Elections will take place at our May meeting.
Officers: President – presides over meetings; Vice President – program facilitator; Recording Secretary – records minutes of board meeting; Corresponding Secretary – gathers information, prints and mails monthly newsletter; Treasurer – records collection of dues, gifts and outgoing monies. All Officers attend the monthly Board meeting before the monthly meetings.
Committee Chairpersons: Greeting Host, Refreshments, Workshops, Sunshine, Photographer, Corn Festival, Facility Manager, Historian, Gallery Coordinator (Shows), Publicity.
As you can see, it takes a lot of volunteers to keep us going. Think about what you may like to do!
APRIL SPEAKER—ROSIE HUART
Rosie Huart is a local and an award winning mixed media artist. She enjoys painting and writing and incorporates many art expressions into her work. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in art and psychology. She believes that the making of art—as a transformative process—impacts the soul’s search for meaning, whether it is poetry, painting, papermaking, collage, calligraphy, or creative writing. She has studied throughout the United States and Asia and has taught workshops in Europe and the Mediterranean. Rosie will be doing a demonstration called Creative Mark-Making using acrylics, collage, orthodox and unorthodox tools. She will explain her process of creativity and will bring a sampling of some of her creative endeavors. Join us for an evening of fun and exploration. MEMBERS’ SPRING FINE ART SHOW
This is a reminder of the Fine Art Show at the Gallery the first three Sundays in May. We still need volunteers to sit and bring snacks to the gallery on Sundays in May, as well as a few more people to help set up the show. We will be passing around the sign-up sheet for this at the April meeting. We cannot put on the show without the members’ help. You may contact Gayle Beireis at 937-390-1992, or sign up at the April meeting. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s help. All the members benefit from a successful show. See the attached prospectus for information on entering your artwork for the show.
IN THE GALLERY
Barbara Olekas and Cindy Sayeedi will have their art on display for the month of April on Sundays from 1-4 pm at the Fairborn Art Gallery. The art pieces will include watercolor, color pencils, and oils.
