PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello Fellow Artists!
I hope this letter finds you well and looking forward to Spring and new beginnings. I always love the change of seasons and enjoy living in a part of the country where I can enjoy this. After the grays of winter, the grass will seem especially green, the sky a brighter blue, and the flowers add pops of colors for us to feast our eyes on… nature is surely a miracle to behold!
This month’s FAA meeting is on Tuesday, April Fool’s Day… no kidding! It will be at 7:00 pm, and our very own Yuki Hall will be our guest artist, so be sure to come early and get a seat! I always love to see Yuki’s watercolor demonstrations and am excited to see what she will have for us this time.
We have several shows coming up – our Member’s Fine Art Show, our Virtual Art Show celebrating Fairborn’s 75th Anniversary, and B-W Greenway & FAA’s Landscapes2025 show. We were also invited to submit artwork for consideration to the Gallery of Dayton Designers Show House curator. Please see the details in our newsletter and be aware of all the dates for drop offs, rules, etc., and don’t forget to sign up to gallery sit during the two weeks we will be open at the end of April and beginning of May.
Speaking of our Virtual Art Show on the 4th of July, I would like to thank Paula Whittington for taking on the leadership role and running with it… my goodness, she is blowing me away with her ideas, posters, connections, and just taking the bull by the horns and going for it!! I’m thrilled with her idea of having a Virtual Art Show at Spark so that we don’t have to lug our artwork in and out for a one-day show, so KUDOS to Paula for thinking outside the box! I’d also like to thank our Corresponding Secretary, April Coppess, for helping me sort through all these extra shows and sending out email blasts, printing prospectusesssssssss, (or is it prospecti?), and literature for the aforementioned shows… THANK YOU, APRIL!
Don’t forget that we will need a new FAA president in June, so please consider volunteering for this important position. I have found it very fulfilling and have developed wonderful relationships, work with the best board ever, and I will be willing to help in any way needed.
With that, I will close and as always, keep creating!
Linda Brandenburg, President
