Dear Member and Patrons,

Our November meeting had a great turnout; Tom Hock did a fine job with his demo and we welcomed new members who will also be participating in our annual Holiday Fine Art and Craft Sale. Hope you are working hard creating wonderful items to fill the gallery. This sale is such a good time to get acquainted with the amazing talents in our membership. And our December Meeting is our Fabulous Fun Christmas Party, always full of laughter and good cheer. Bring along an appetizer or finger food to share. To add to the fun there will be a Christmas ornament gift exchange. Those who would like to participate in the exchange should bring a wrapped ornament either handmade or purchased (value at $5-$10). Every member, friends, patrons, and spouses are invited to attend. Jim Scherer will take a group photograph to post on the FAA website. So don’t miss this perfect opportunity socialize with fellow artists and friends.

Tuesday, December 4, is the date for our Christmas Party Meeting. Our Fine Arts and Craft Show and Sale will be open from 5:30 to 7:00 for early shopping. This will give you plenty of opportunity to purchase beautiful items for yourself or those on your Christmas list.

It is hoped you all had a joy-filled Thanksgiving with family and friends. I wish you all a Happy Holiday and a Blessed New Year filled with good health and happiness. Special good wishes to members who have health issues. You are remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Sue Brezine, President

P.S. I want to take this opportunity to thank all members who have worked volunteering many hours. Thanks to all who so willing provided us with good food at each meeting. Thanks for our computer savvy folks, our photographers who keep our web site going and a special thanks to our corresponding secretary Jackie Albright and to Cheryl Miracle, who work diligently preparing and getting this newsletter to us every month on time. We have so many to be grateful for. This is why Fairborn Art Association is a Vibrant and Healthy Organization. Thank You All.

HAVE A SHOW IN OUR GALLERY
FAA Members: I’m still looking for someone to have a show in the gallery in April; if interested call gayle Beireis.

HOLIDAY FINE ART & CRAFT SALE
Fairborn Art Association members will again have the opportunity to have their artwork and handicrafts displayed in the Gallery for sale the first two weekends in December and for early shopping from 5:30–7:00 pm before the Christmas party, which begins at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 4. The Holiday Fine Art & Craft Sale will be open on two successive weekends, Dec. 1 & 2 and Dec. 8 & 9. The Gallery will be open on Saturdays from 10 am–4 pm and Sundays from 1–4 pm. If you haven’t signed up yet to participate, please call Gayle & Robert Beireis, 937-390-1992. We plan to set up the art racks and decorate the Holiday Gallery with members’ help on Monday morning, Nov. 26 from 9:00 am–noon. Please sign up to help decorate and arrange the room. Members can bring in their priced Holiday arts and crafts with inventory sheets that same afternoon from 1–3 pm. Members can also bring their art and craft items to the Gallery on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 10 am–12 noon and 1–3 pm. Each participating member artist will be assigned a number (as we did last year) which must be included on each price tag. Each member may bring two large paintings (18 X 24 or larger, up to 30 X 40) and up to 10 smaller paintings (16 X 20 or smaller) and handcrafted items. Since this is advertised as a SALE, please mark SALE prices on items along with your name and participating artist number (same as last year). Special art and/or craft demonstrations are encouraged during the sale. All members’ unsold artwork may be picked up on the last sale day, Sunday, Dec. 9 from 4–5 pm or Monday, Dec. 10 from 10–12 noon. Remember, the F.A.A. receives no commission from sales. This is quite a benefit to all participating members. Inventory sheets are included with this newsletter. The big SALE will be publicized in area newspapers and there will be A-frame signs around town. HOWEVER, the more that we all publicize the HOLIDAY SALE, the better the sales will be! Let’s have a great Gallery show and make lots of sales!

MEMBER NEWS
ROS NICHOLS
Ros is in poor health. She has difficulty walking and was recently diagnosed with bone cancer. Gayle and Robert recently received a letter from Del Nichols. He expressed their gratitude for the get well cards and the “beautiful flowers” from FAA. Unfortunately, they will not be participating in either the Holiday Craft Sale or the Christmas Party. Ros has had an initial chemo treatment. She is coping with the treatment, though she is unable to walk without using either two canes or a walker. She is not well enough to sort through her crafts to select a group to send to the sale, or to fill out an inventory sheet. Their spirits appear to be good, as they were planning to go out to celebrate their anniversary on November 20. For additional information on Ros, contact gayle or Robert Beireis, [email protected]

ROSEMARY KIENLE
Roe Kienle has a painting accepted in the Richmond Art Museum Exhibition; opening night is November 8 at 7 pm at the museum, and the show runs through Dec. 19. It’s worth a drive to see it.

On Nov. 2, The Anna Bier Gallery at Memorial Hall in Greenville will open its Best of the West exhibition. This is work which was done in Montana and Wyoming with Nancy Foureman. Roe attended the week long workshop in WY with a variety of wonderful instructors and will have two painting in the exhibition.

KATHERINE JENKINS
Cookie Jenkins, a new member who joined in October, passed along this wonderful information. She was elected earlier this month to become President of the Dayton Heritage Basketry Guild. This a 2-year commitment and she is extremely excited. Congratulations, Cookie.
