PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello Fellow Artists!
Well, another year has flown by and soon it will be 2025, which seems unbelievable to me. Thanksgiving is past and our home is decorated with snowmen, Santas, and penguins as far as the eye can see. I will be baking Christmas cookies that I shouldn’t be eating, but will, while listening to Christmas carols, wrapping presents, and then ringing in the New Year! Wasn’t it just summer?
Speaking of Christmas, I want to remind you of our catered Christmas party on Saturday, December 14, 3:00–5:00 pm at the Gallery. Reservations are due by December 6 to Debbie Cosenza. If you wish to be a part of our gift exchange, bring a $15 gift for a man or woman, and Warren Brown will be our Santa Claus. This is always a fun event so I hope many of you can attend!
This month I would like to recognize Cheryl Miracle as Secretary of our Sweet Corn Festival Committee. Besides taking minutes at all of our Sweet Corn meetings, she makes phone calls to fill all the many shifts for the vendors gate and information booth, highlights the maps for the vendors and gets their packets organized to hand out at the vendors gate, and a myriad of other tasks that I am not even aware of! Thank you so much, Cheryl, for your faithful service to FAA.
I want to wish all of you a blessed Christmas season and a wonderful New Year and as always, keep creating!
Linda Brandenburg, President

FAIRBORN ART ASSOCIATION MAY 2025 WORKSHOP
Fairborn Art Association will present a “Paint Bold in Watercolor” Workshop on May 5–7, 2025, with award winning artist Fran Mangino.
Watercolor could be the most exciting medium but it is often unforgiving and difficult. Students will go step by step to design a composition while working the human figure into their painting. The goal is to capture the essence of the subject while producing mood and atmosphere, while using values and contrast. Hopefully, students will achieve their next level as an artist. I want each student to choose their own image from what I have to paint. Students will not be on the same level in the process of watercolor. Therefore, I hope to help each student individually with their painting problems. “One size fits all” is rare.
The registration form for this workshop will soon be available in the gallery and on our website.
