All FAA members and friends are invited to help support the Soup and Art Show to be held on October 26, by hand building bowls to be sold at the event. You only need hands, washable clothes, the ability to play (in clay) and a desire to help others. All materials will be provided as well as examples to inspire you and a few simple basics of working with clay to guarantee success.
Come to the Fairborn Art Association Gallery on Thursday, September 12 (time up to you if scheduled in advance), and/or Saturday, September 14, 10-2, to make the bowls. After they are fired and ready to be glazed you can return on Thursday, October 10 (3-8 pm) and/or Saturday, October 12, (10-2) for the glazing. Old clothes, shoes, and an old apron will be helpful as some glazes are staining. The clay will wash out easily. The bowls will be fired again and will be available for sale at the Soup and Art Show.
To join the fun at the clay and glaze tables please call Dora Lawson or email her at [email protected]. Please put FAA soup bowls in the subject so I do not miss you. Also indicate which dates you will come and the time, if on Thursday.
