Dear Members, Patrons, and Friends,

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are filled with all the great food. We will have our Christmas meeting Dec. 5th. Come dressed up and bring an exchange item as Santa will  be there. Please bring your favorite covered dish to share. Come early to look and buy at our Holiday Bazaar starting at 5:30 pm. The meeting will start at 7 pm. Remember that there is no meeting in January. We will be looking to get the New Year started. Please make one of your resolutions that you will have more time to spend with family and friends. This will give you a great time to relax and possibly work on some new ideas for your painting or crafts.

President

FAA HOLIDAY ARTS & CRAFT BAZAAR Will Be Back This Year!

At this time, we are only accepting registration for table space for Dec. 2 (Sat.) and Dec. 3 (Sun.) as well as wall space.  No table space is available for Dec. 5 (Tue. before the FAA Christmas  party). Items that can be sold at the Bazaar will include paintings, photography, wood worker items, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, etc. No commercially made items or art supplies will be permitted to be sold. If you wish to participate in the Bazaar, you will purchase a table space and/or wall space to display your art. You will be responsible to tend your own table and make sales. It is highly recommended that you will be present at your table during the entire sales hours. However, if it is not possible, you can send in an alternative person to take care of the sales or make a prior arrangement with another artist participating in the bazaar. Neither FAA nor the Bazaar organizer (Yuki Hall) will be responsible for your sales if no one is at your station. If you are only showing 2-D art on the wall and do not have a table, you are not required to be present in the gallery. Instead, you can leave the phone number on the title cards of your paintings so that the potential buyer can contact you to arrange the sale. No inventory sheets are necessary. You set up your own station and you make your own sales!

Pre-registration is necessary to participate in this Bazaar. Please refer to the Registration Form for more details about how to participate. Registration Forms will be available in the Gallery and are attached. Any questions about the Bazaar, please contact Yuki Hall, at 937-679-2464 or email [email protected].

SPRING WORKSHOP WITH LIAM ZHEN

Mark your calendars for May 2-4, 2018 when Liam Zhen, a very popular watercolorist and Chinese Painting artist will be the featured artist at a workshop at Fairborn Art Association. He will also be the demo artist for the May 1 FAA meeting and be the judge for our Spring Members Show. Please contact Pat Dunker at [email protected] for registration and more information. Additional information will be provided as we get near the dates.

TRASH DISPOSAL

Maintenance for the Senior Housing Building has asked that we please use the large dumpster for our trash disposal. The large dumpster is located behind a gate to the side of the building. Apparently someone is using a small receptacle outside of the gate. It may or may not be us.

FEBRUARY SPEAKER—PETE FREDERICK

Our Vice President, Fran Watson, has scheduled Pete Frederick as our speaker/demo artist for February 2018. When she mentioned his name, several FAA members had taken his classes and were very excited. A full biography for Pete will be included in our February newsletter. Meanwhile, you may want to go to his website, peterfrederickart.com and view a video. When you get to the website, below the “art show” click on the thinktv.org video.
